Our gas bills jumps up during winter times. The insulation at our attic disintegrated already so we decided to have it done this year before the winter is in full swing. We actually planned to do that before we went overseas two years ago but we were not able to accomplish it. Anyway, we bought ten rolls of this Unfaced R-30 and it only covered 20% of the attic.

Here's our attic before we put the insulation. The former has a lot of things stored there so we removed some of them and put it downstairs. IT was a pain lol.

My wife and I can't do anything without our two kids investigating. They wanted to help me roll the insulation but it's not good for their health so we just let them see the attic first before I started working.
Hopefully, we could put this on our tax this year.
We will see if this could reduce our bill this year. I Hope!
Have a great weekend everyone!

It looks warmer already, John. Too bad the insulation isn't as soft and cuddly as it looks. I have installed quite a bit of it, and I know.
Unfaced is perfect for attics, but not for walls.

That the children have an interest in all things about the home is wonderful! They can take a look at the importance of the insulation while learning lessons about costs and conserving. Nice!

Only 20%, that's too bad, but another 40 rolls will take care of it. What you have finished looks awesome! More importantly, it will make a difference.
Loved the shots of the kids going up!

It does indeed look warmer already! I, too, think that it's great for the kids to have such an interest in all that's being done to their home! Hope you're having a good weekend and get a chance to rest before the new week begins! Thanks for your visit/comment, always appreciated!

Hi John:

That looks like a lot of work but it will be worth it for a warm home. Your kids are so cute.

Thanks for your encouraging comment about my photo.

oh boy...I know exactly what you're going through! We remodled our attic...and we had attic stuff in the hall and in the basement for a year and a half waiting for the insulation & drywall, etc...! Hoping your project is a quick one! It will be worth it (and sooo much warmer!) Have a great week John!

New insulation should certainly help to keep everyone warmer and reduce the fuel bills. Keep warm:-)
