Archibald, the Dachshund

Meet Archie, Aunt Peg's two year old dachshund.  They brought him  during their recent  visit.  If we could have known that they  brought him, we could have brought Champ with us.  They could have played ball and had fun as they both love playing ball.

Remembering my Brother

I was at my Dad's garage tonight trying to fix his car and while I was opening the fuse box, I look on the other side of the hood and there was my brother Dave staring at me just like the last time we fixed Dad's car. I was in that thought when I heard the phone rang upstairs and I told myself "He's gone." I was right, it was my sister informing us that Dave passed away.

I feel so bad for my Dad because Dave is the second child that he lost after my brother Harold died. I can feel his pain. He told me that he won't be able to sleep a wink tonight. My brother's life lasted for five months after he was diagnosed with cancer. The surgery and the chemo did not help him at all.

Below are some of the photos during the 4th of July last year. He was still with us and we never have thought that he has the deadly disease.

In behalf of my family, thank you all for your prayers!

One Day

One of the entertaining toys that you might want to get your kids.  It works good with their creativity  and thinking skills.  Created and  photographed by our 6 years old Ms. Burrito.  Below is a music video of a very young Filipina talent that becomes an international sensation, Charice Pempengco with "One Day".

This dynamite was part of the set up of the Panning for Gold stall at Janoski's Farm. I was teasing my son not to touch as it may explode lol. Link with us with your favorite color through color connection every Fridays.

Winter Breeze

Some shots I took during our recent  family walk in our neighborhood.  Some of the trees around here are already  bald but some are just starting to turn their leaves into yellow color.  I can feel the winter breeze already.

Empty Sunflower

The birds love the sunflower that we have along side our home. They ate most of them.
Have a lovely week ahead everyone!

Newly Hatched

We saw this newly hatched cicada (disambiguation) at our neighbor's  porch wall when we were playing outside.
It was so beautiful  watching how the color of this bug or insect turns from light to  bright green.
In some parts of the world, people eat cicadas.  I don't think I would be able to.

Dress Up Time With Champ

Ms. Burrito: Hey Champ, can we play dress up?
Champ: Let's play ball first.
Ms. Burrito: Dress up first and then we play ball. Is that okay?
Champ: Okay.
Ms. Burrito: Thanks a lot Champ!
Champ: You're welcome, now let's play!
Sometimes Ms. Burrito go over board with her interest in fashion. When she get's tired of drawing/sketching dresses, she turns to Champ and dress him up. Champ on the other side, doesn't mind it as long as you would play ball with him afterwards

Flock

I am not  sure what flock of birds are these but they  flew by when we visited my BIL  last weekend.
Do you see the toy plane at the photo below?  Our neighbor was flying his gadget  at the  baseball field the other  day and we watched for a bit as my son was into it.
Thank you for visiting!

Mouse Trap

I discovered that we had a mouse visiting our kitchen last week when I opened one drawer and saw a bag of garbanzos almost half empty. We immediately put our mouse trap and put pieces of bread. We did it twice, the mouse ate the bread but got away.
Our neighbor Don came to the rescue, he said that he has this super sensitive mouse trap that you just breath in it and it will go. It also has a fake cheese so he lent us three of them.
Sure enough, just last night, I was startled by the loud noise it made. The mouse came back and was trapped dead! Oh yeah baby, we finally gotcha!
I think the porch renovation is what  causing the  mice to get in the house.  With  the part of our roof line opened, they might have crawled in  and made access to our house.  We found a  dead baby  mouse in our  dryer yesterday.  I was doing the laundry and when I opened the dryer, the foul smell rolled out.  Oh gosh, a baby mouse managed to crawl from our garden  through the air duct that is connected to dryer and he was not able to get out.

It might be cruel to kill them but we have to, before they could cause  big problem and affect our health.  I never liked mice, it freaks me out.  I screamed when I  reached in the  lent section of the dryer and felt those small feet, yuck.

Moon Light

Capturing the moon early last night at my neighbor's  patio.  I actually was going to photograph the angel bird's feeder but then saw the moon up above.

Long Shot for BBT

Our son love this bean bag toss from my BIL's yard because they are light to toss and he can really make a long shot.
It's a joy to see kids tell you something that they do so proudly even if it's a small thing.
