Icicles on the Wall

These are the icicles that formed at the back of my Dad's house.
After taking these photos, my wife warned my Dad not to go down the steps of his patio because it was all iced and he said yes. The next day we went, he told us that he went baboom baboom in the steps. Oh poor Dad, I know that it hurt him because that stair is high. He said that he tried to lean up the snows and iced but his feet slid. I'm still thankful that he didn't get hurt that bad.

I feel bad for the old man. That's his second time falling from the steps. I hope that God will take care of him so he won't fall anymore. It's dangerous!

Oh my! I do hope he is ok. While the icicles look pretty they can cause a dangerous situation. They form because you are losing heat from your attic causing ice and snow to melt in your eavestrouph then overspill down the side of your house. Is there any way you could add extra insulation in the attic to prevent this problem in future?
