Hydrangea?

This is my first time to join the Today's Flower series. For my first entry, I present the flower pic that my wife took when we were still in Korea. This was one of the many flowering plants surrounding our home in Korea. As far as I know, this is the only flower that prompts an allergic response from my body. Although I find this flower to be very attractive, I do my best to avoid them when I can. I am not sure, but I think this is called Hydrangea?

10 valuable thoughts they wrote, what's yours?:

This is indeed hydrangea, and the color of the flower depends on the alkalinity/acidity of your soil. If I remember it right, the acidic soil brings out pink, and alkaline soil brings out blue flowers. Neutral probably is the one responsible for white. But I am not too sure.
They sure are pretty. I planted 3 last year, and I am not sure if they will grow and bloom...

Manang is correct. I had some blooming me in a window box in our apartment when we lived in the Bronx and have wanted some ever since. Mine wore a lovely shade of blue. Sorry they cause an allergic reaction for you, but you certainly took a wonderful pic.

Hydrangeas are favorites if mine. They are beautiful to look at and they are so long lasting.
Here they will not bloom until August.
Lucky you.
