Book Fair at St. Joseph School

The school had their annual book fair last week. I helped the other Moms on Tuesday and Wednesdays.  The school rely on volunteer workers to facilitate the school event s because there  is limited employees there so we  always make sure to make ourselves available for some events.  Anyway, I gave both of my kids $20 each to spend.  I can say that they both spent their money wisely.  They both have a change after book shopping.
My son bought the World War 2 book, I asked him why that choice and he said that he wants to learn more about his Grandpa's  experience during the WW2.
My daughter wanted to be independent so  she said that she would shop alone so I did not help her.  Being a Science nut, she bought  3D book.
She also bought this story book written by Jeri Watts and  a minecraft book.
Here's the set up at the library during the book fair.
I felt bad for this  one girl that I helped because she only got $5 and she wanted like $20 books.  I was tempted to help her by  paying the rest of the amount but  the librarian warned us that years ago, she used to do that for the kids who doesn't  have enough money but she stopped doing it because she got chewed up one time.  A parent came top her and complained that if they want their kids to buy a book, that they will send the money.

Now, I was stunned  that a parent would do that because the librarian  just wants to do a favor for the kids but her deed was misinterpreted by a parent, oh boy.  What is wrong with people these days.  It reminds me when my daughter  was in first grade, the teacher gave my daughter money because she  wanted my daughter to buy  what she likes in one event that my daughter did not plan to buy any.  I did not mind the teachers generosity at all, in fact I was grateful that she  did that because it made my daughter really happy.

Writing Starts with Pentel #Shoplet

I received 8 Pentel Pens and Pencils  from Shoplet to review.  Shoplet have sent me the following:

  • 2 Liquid Gel Ink, Needle Tip 0.5
  • 4 Liquid Gel Ink, Metal Tip 0.7
  • 1 Pentel Twist Erase GT 0.7
  • 1 Pentel Twist Erase GT 0.5

My daughter  immediately asked me if I have a mechanical pencil when I open the package.  She  love the Twist Erase Pencil in sketching   the  fur babies from the book that she recently bought. I wish that  I could have had one of this when I was taking drafting subject in High School.  It's not that I love to draw but I could have given it to the guy who was doing all my   drawing  to be submitted to our teacher lol.  Anyhow, each of this mechanical pencil only cost $4.55 so if you  love to draw, this is the ideal one to use because you won't deal with the smudges or paper tear when using this pencil.
I am loving my new office pens in different colors.  My kids are very proud when they present us their test papers with no mistakes so this  pens will be  the perfect to use when signing their papers.  This would last me a year now.  I love  using them when writing checks as well.  I no longer have an office job but it doesn't mean that I can't use fancy  pens when  doing my job at home like writing checks for the bills and  of course in signing my children's  perfect scored test papers.
Here are the different colors of  the awesome pens they sent me.
Shoplet have everything that you need for your business and home  including office supplies, office stationary,  promotional products, promotional shirts and many  others.  Thank you so much again Shoplet!

We bought this  miniature glue gun for our little Miss to use in her crafts.  We paid  a couple of dollars for this and she have use it so many times already.  This is definitely worth a buy!  Our dining room table is always cluttered with her stuff but I don't mind as she explore her creativity.

How Your Cluttered House Could be Cluttering Your Mind

The Chinese concepts of feng shui and qi have long drawn a link between a well-organised, clean living space and positive energy. We also know that our homes can reflect our personalities and interests. Similarly, living conditions reflect our state of mind. An immaculate, structured layout suggests order and discipline, while a tangle of belongings indicates turmoil and dysfunction. For untidy individuals, the cycle of chaos and negativity continues as long as the mess remains. Read on to learn just how clutter can affect your life.

Draining

Imagine that you have just returned home from a tiring day at work, only to be greeted by a huge pile of jumbled clothes and papers, coupled with a stack of unwashed dishes. What would be your reaction? Sagging shoulders, a sense of gloom and a deep sigh? This is the reality of clutter. It drains the life out of you just by looking at it.

Inability to Concentrate

From fiddling with a paperclip to suddenly discovering a bill you need to pay, clutter can be an excellent distraction for a bored, wandering mind. The sheer volume of the mess can also make it hard to concentrate; knowing that a clean-up is required can be like an itch or a niggling thought at the back of your mind. End the procrastination and guilt by ditching the untidiness once and for all.

Daily Functions are Affected

The adverse effects of clutter are not just emotional; they can also be physical. When mountains of possessions block your path or affect your ability to use appliances and fixtures, it’s easy to feel stressed or overwhelmed. Is part of your morning routine shuffling items around just so you can make breakfast or use your bathroom sink? A lack of space can also result in claustrophobic feelings, a serious problem for some people.

Social Isolation

Owners of untidy or dirty homes often avoid entertaining guests because they are ashamed and afraid to be judged by their friends and family. This natural withdrawal leads to loneliness and self-loathing, and can significantly affect a person’s quality of life.

Stuck in the Past

Clutter has also been linked to an inability to move forward and look to the future. Being attached to our possessions is normal, but there is always a point where we need to let go in order to make room for new items. More physical space means more mental space and remember, reminiscing is healthy when done in moderation.

What do you think? Is it time for a spring clean? If you can’t bear the thought of throwing away some of your possessions, start by moving them into a storage facility, such as Fort Knox Storage or Access Self Storage. While the cleaning process can be difficult to initiate and even harder to maintain, you will see and feel the results once you banish the clutter. Feel free to share your thoughts or tips by commenting in the box below.

Dual Oscillating Desk Fan from Ozeri

We had a beautiful weather today, an indication that Spring is just around the corner.  However, we are  suppose  to have a  single digit   freezing  temperature again by Thursday.  Hopefully, that would be the last of the freezing temperature.  It is tiring to have this  long Winter, it seems to last forever.  I definitely take  Summer heat over  Winter freeze.  I can't wait  till Summer time comes so we could  enjoy outdoors again.

I am so grateful that  received this Ozeri Brezza III Dual Oscillating 10" High Velocity Desk and Table Fan for review because this would really come in handy this summer season.  Love, love, love its features:
  • Powered by new ultra-quiet, 4-speed, dual oscillating motors with automatic vertical and horizontal motion for maximum cooling effectiveness.
  • Extended-range remote control and fan controls easily engage automatic dual oscillation (up/down & left/right), horizontal oscillation (left/right), the 4-hour timer and all air speed settings.
  • Aerodynamically designed for an even lower dB noise rating than the trend-setting Brezza II, while providing air circulation at 4 different speeds.
  • Push button access to non-oscillating mode for precisely directed airflow.
  • Boasts a sophisticated and stylish space-saving design that complements and enhances room decor. Ships fully assembled. Satisfaction Guaranteed.
This is my first time having a desk fan with a remote so I am very excited.  To test it, I opened it up and  tried it on and was amazed  of how quiet it runs and the automatic horizontal and vertical motion is so cool.  It really brings the maximum cooling effectiveness.  The remove is a great addition because you would be able to turn it on and off and adjust its speed without getting up your chair.
I am planning to move my office  down  the basement this summer so this desk fan would really be a great one for me to use.  However, my husband said that he  will be taing this to his work on summer, let us see about that hahaha.
You can check if this is available in Amazon already because when I last checked, it is unavailable.  Thanks again Ozeri for this one!

Electronic Vs. Traditional

My husband  smoked  during his younger years but he decided to quit one day and I am glad that he did because I can't stand  being around smokers.  The smoke suffocates me and it  gives me headache.  Not to mention that it is not only healthy for him but also healthy for the whole family.  He wasn't smoking anymore when I met him so it did not really affect us and I am blessed just for that.  The price of the cigarette these days is   getting more expensive so it is really a relief for me that my husband does not smoke.

Cigarette smoke is also one  factor why we only go to one restaurant here in our area.  We love going there because  smoking is not allowed  which is a big plus for us.  I am not against with people who  smokes but  I really can't be around them for long as I get  a massive headache that's why we  choose to avoid those areas where smoking is allowed as much as we could.  We also educate our children about smoking and the harm that it can do to one's health.  I hope that  they will remember what we  have been teaching them when they are older.
Just like everything else,  smoking  also  evolves as technology advances.  There is now the  so called electronic  cigarette that you can buy in different flavors.  With the wider acceptance of the electronic cigarettes in society, more and more smokers tend to favor it over smoking the traditional cigarettes. Someone I know told me that if you compare the cost of the traditional cigarette to the electronic ones, it is cheaper to use the latter. Even though I don't smoke, I personally think that electronic cigarette is better because you don't have to worry about the cigarette butts and the smoke. Cigarette smoke makes me nauseous and triggers my migraine so I think that electronic cigarette is healthier, well at least, for those people around you. With Ecigs, you can avoid the stinky smell because unlike the traditional  cigarette, there is no smoke that comes out from it. So are you ready to  go smokeless?

Discovery Kids Laptop

This Discovery Kids Laptop cost $20 on sale. My son received this is a birthday present from his Aunt Crystal, thanks Chris. This is a nice gadget to have but my son preferred playing computer games wahhh.

Cellphone Purse

I bought this cellphone carrier/purse at Claire's. It was on sale for under ten bucks so I thought I could use it for my celphone or for my daughter's iPod.  It's quite handy to have because it has compartments for IDs and  also a  slot to put cash in.
This is one of those purchase that I regret having because I don't  usually use it lol.  Glad it was on sale and I did not pay much for it.  I must admit, it is stylish to carry around.  I will end up sending this to my sister because my daughter does not want to use it.

Gucci, Seiko, or NIxon?

I have two Seiko watches and one Gucci, I seldom wear  a watch anymore.  I keep mine in the jewelry box.  I used to love   wearing watches when I was working but now that I am a stay at home mom, I just rely on our clocks around the house.  When it come to watches, do you have a favorite brand?  What do you think of Nixon watches selection on this site?  Which would you prefer, Seiko, Gucci, or Nixon?

Sandford's Sharpies from Shoplet

Sharpie is one favorite brand at our home.  Every year, we buy  many packs of these  for our children's  school supplies.  We also buy extra  for home use whenever these are on sale.  I am so glad to have given an opportunity to review some of  these Sharpie's from Shoplet.
I received  a pack of Neon Permanent Markers, Metallic Permanent Markers, Premium Pen, and a sun glasses.
The Premium Pen cost $6.13 each.  It offers a smooth and high  quality writing experience.  It delivers  concise lines that are permanent and smear free.  I like using this now in writing checks  because it doesn't smear at all.
A pack of Neon Permanent Markers cost $8.94.  There are five brilliant and vivid colors in a pack.  These are great to use on paper, glass, wood and leather.  These are also smear and fade resistant.  The fine tips produces bold and detailed lines.  We bought one of these for my daughters  art projects here at home.
I love these   Metallic Permanent Marker.  It cost  $4.56 for a pack of two, gold and silver colors.  These are designed to  provide brilliant sheen on both light and dark surfaces.  All of these are safe for  children as they are non-toxic.
And I have this eye wear  as a bonus, this blocks ultra violet rays.  This would be cool  on a sunny but snowy days.
If you ever need some Promotional Products like shirts,  mugs, or  Office Stationary, go to Shoplet as they are complete with Office Supplies from different companies.  Thank you Shoplet and Sandford/Sharpie!

New Boots for our Daughter

Two weeks after my children have participated in a free games event over at Steuben Mall, the lady from the mall called us and informed us that Ms. Burrito's name was one of the five winners of the $100 gift card that they were giving away as prizes for the game participation. You can see the details of the event here and how much fun the kids have had during the Post-Valentine free games event at the mall.  We usaed the gift card to buy  Ms. Burrito  a new pair of boots  and we also bought  the little mister  s pair of pants.

This boots was originally priced at $30 but we only paid $19.99 for it as it  was on sale.

Shopping Online

I was introduced to online shopping when I first ca,me here in the States. I was new here and my husband was still in the service that time so he told me that if I ever need to buy something and he wasn't at home, that I could shop online and he showed me how. I am just glad that I  am not a shopaholic addict or else we could have been financially troubled hahaha.  But seriously, online shopping is a very convenient especially for a stay at home mom like me.  We can shop without leaving the comfort of our home.  You can basically shop around the world no matter where you live.
Here's the dress that I bought online, all the way from China.  We have to remember though that when we shop online, we have to  take extra precautions to avoid fraud and   identity theft.  Just like when I purchase this dress, few hours after I placed this order,  there were  5 purchases that  went in my account  that was from different countries.  I was so shocked so I  immediately contact them and I changed my  info at their website.  Gladly',  no harm was done, I caught  it  at the right time.

If you want to see some shopping tips when shopping online, check out this website that offers different kinds of tips.  I read their article about the  these three online shopping tips that you should not ignore.  As I have  indicated  above with my personal  experience, it is always a must to take extra precautions when shopping online.  For more online shopping tips, visit  onlineshoppingtips.net.
