Rivalry

Our Jack Russel Terrier, Champ, was not very happy when we brought home the new addition, a Toy Fox Terrier, Maximus.  For a while there, Champ doesn't have to do anything with Max.  We slowly work on it and told Champ that he would be  his  buddy  from now on.
A couple of days ago, my wife  saw Champ in his chair so she put Max there too.  Champ was ignoring him at first.  Max made his way to be closer to him.
Every time Champ would growl, We told him him not too.
He finally settled and let Max be part of his territory.
He gets uneasy when  Max touches his ball or uses his chair.  I think that the rivalry will  soon vanish.  Champ needs a little more time to get fully acquainted with Max.

How cute, I hope Champ and Max become the best of friends. Great photos.

Champ looks so sad, I think he is jealous with Max., he is afraid that he won't get the full attention anymore., and won't be the favorite playmate of the kids.,

Champ does look sad, but with time, I'll bet he will accept Max-especially when he sees he isn't losing love and attention. Great series of photos!

Nice photos - hard for some critters to accept anyone else, but with time, they will be fine, one Champ realizes he hasn't lost anything, but gained a friend!

Great looking dogs! and very cute. Our family is in the same situation right now when we introduced a Maltese puppy to our 4 year old toy poodle. They aren't great friends yet but we are slowly working on it! Good luck with your pups!

I know I should be commenting on your Pink Saturday post, but I loved this so much, I couldn't resist! I used to have a Jack Russell, too!
