I took our car in last week for an oil change and for a routine checkup. The repairman discovered that the air filter needed to be replaced so authorized the maintenance. The air filter hasn't been changed since we purchased the car in 2005 so I figured it was due. I did check the filter while we were in Korea but it didn't appear to be dirty at the time. In fact, it didn't look that dirty this time around but I had it replaced anyway. I'm glad that I did because the car is running much smoother now and that means better gas mileage. I also had the brakes and rotors replaced the week before because the rotors were warped. It's amazing, the brake pads were still like new after five years but the rotors were in pretty bad shape.

Regular maintenance and paying attention to your vehicle when it speaks to you are key to getting the most out of your purchase. If you want to increase your vehicles performance, try replacing your stock parts with high performance parts, such as your air intake or headers. Little things like this can make a world of difference when you're pulling away from that traffic signal or passing someone on the highway. If you take the time to take care of your vehicle, your vehicle will take care of you.
